How it works?
Boss Everyware is a bundle of three components: Logger, Reports application and Logger Configuration tool.
Logger is a monitoring program that silently runs in the
background of the user session, captures activity data and writes them into a log file.
The logger can be installed alone, without non-monitoring parts of Boss Everyware.
- The captured data include computer name, user name, application file name,
open URL, typed keys, window titles, the user's idle time, date, time
and duration of each operation.
- Log files can be written as delimited text files, in DBF or in a proprietary ELT format.
- Log files can be updated with the new portions of data at pre-defined periods of
time, from seconds to hours. The logger can write the logs to a local disk, network
share, your FTP server or send them by email.
The Reports application enables an ad-hoc log analysis - you can group,
filter and sort the data, search through the data and control the data appearance.
- The current logs are not locked so you can view the captured data almost
in the real time.
- It can show the keystrokes as typed text, without the control
and erased characters. This is useful not only for monitoring, but to
protect your typing work from accidental deletion.
- In addition to a set of standard reports, you can create and save your
own customized ones.
With the Logger Configuration tool you control the
monitoring process.
- The Logger Configuration tool can be run only by administrator. With additional password
protection none of the Boss Everyware components except the monitoring will run without authorization.
