Deploying the loggers

To make it possible to change configurations of remote loggers in the future, Pete specifies a configuration file. Loggers will periodically check this external configuration file and if the file exists and contains a newer configuration than the current one, loggers will update their current configuration accordingly to this .cfg file.

Peter moves to the Deploy page and specifies a configuration file for the loggers.

Pete clicks- and saves the shown configuration as \\Server-a\sysdata\logcfg.cfg.

Now initial configuration is defined and Pete makes logger deployment package: he clicks Create deployment package, specifies setup file name,

clicks Save and

 

Logger deployment package runs silently and takes only a few seconds to install the Logger. The package can be deployed via logon scripts or by another way to launch programs remotely. You may also visit each computer and run the package manually.

To monitor all the users, Pete schedules the deployment package \\Server-a\sysdata\bedepl.exe to be run under an administrator's account.
