Case 2

Pete monitors usage of all the computers in the office

After test driving Boss Everyware at home (Pete monitors usage of his computer), Pete decides to monitor all the computers in the office.

Here's how this will work:

Boss Everyware is fully installed on the Administrator's computer. All the other computers only have the Logger, installed via deployment package. The data collected on these computers are all written into a shared network folder, '\\Server-a\sysdata'. The Loggers are controlled by a configuration file 'logcfg.cfg', which is located in the same folder (for our example). The Administrator updates the configuration file using the Logger Configurator on his computer. The Administrator also performs the analysis of the collected data using Report Manager on his computer.

Here's how to implement this:

Pete starts by installing Boss Everyware on his computer. He does not hide Boss Everyware, but protects it with a password. After that he creates network folder '\\Server-a\sysdata' and gives all the monitored users read/write permissions to this folder.

After that Pete

1. Prepares a common logger configuration

2. Deploys loggers

3. Analyses logged data

4. Changes configuration of working loggers
