Case 1 - Step 1

Configuring the logger

Pete read that Boss Everyware writes the complete history of computer usage into a log file. To specify the name and location of this file, Pete runs Logger Configurator

and opens the 'Log file' page:

The file name will be generated automatically in the form of computer name followed by the current date. Pete's computer name is STATION-A1 and today is 16-Dec-2003.

Pete would prefer to write the log into an encrypted file instead of the widely used dBase and DSV files. He checks the Log file format.

After taking a look at the other configuration pages Pete decides to leave all the other options as they are.

He clicks to post changes.

To start the logging right now, Pete clicks and closes the Logger Configurator.

Now the logger runs and writes its log file.
