Logger Configurator

Captured data

If checked, the Logger will capture all keys pressed. If the log file is in dBase III+ format, the keyboard log will be written into the file with the extension '.dbt'. Don't forget this when you copy the log files!

If checked, the Logger captures all the passwords. Otherwise the passwords you type in Microsoft Internet Explorer's Enter Network Password dialog, as well as Boss Everyware passwords, are not captured.

If Capture from well-known browsers only is checked, the Logger captures the complete URLs from Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, MSN, AOL 7 and AOL 8, Neoplanet, Missiontrek Cartagio 1.2, Sun HotJava 3.

If Attempt to get URL from each program is checked, the Logger tries to get URL from each active window. This allows to record URLs from all browsers that use Microsoft Internet Explorer engine.

If checked, the Logger writes its start and stop events into the log. This option is useful to track user's logon/logoff times.

If checked, the Logger watches the work of specified applications only. To specify the applications, press and fill in the list of executable files:

To add an item to the list, you can either type the file name in the field at the top of the box and then press , or you can select the files with a File Open dialog box by pressing .  If is checked, the Logger will watch listed users only. Otherwise it will watch all the users except the listed ones.

If checked, the Logger will detect user inactivity. If user has not performed any actions for a specified amount of time, Logger starts to count the time of inactivity and writes it as a separate record. Program name in this record is changed to '[no user actions]'.

Example: an user opens a Microsoft Excel workbook, prints it out and discusses with his boss for 23 minutes. Then he comes back and starts to correct the workbook. If 'Log user inactivity' is on, the log is as follows:

If 'Log user inactivity' is off, it seems like the user was working on the workbook all the time that he actually has spent on the meeting:

Use this option to reduce the log size by don't logging quickly opened and closed windows.

If checked, the logger running in a Windows Terminal Services session writes the client computer name instead of the server name. This option also affects the auto-naming of the log file, if it is set up to have the computer name as prefix.

Example:
The Boss Everyware logger is running on your office computer. At home, you connect to your office computer via Remote Desktop Connection. If this option is on, the logger will write the name of your home computer. Otherwise, it will write the name of your office computer.
