Case 1 - Step 3

Viewing data - Advanced reports

Now Pete wants to leave only the info that relates to Microsoft Excel, and to see all the recorded keystrokes, including non-character keys like [ENTER], [UP] etc. He also wants to remove the date/time related columns.

To leave only the info that relates to Microsoft Excel, Pete opens the 'Report Settings' panel on the 'Filter' page by clicking , chooses column name 'Application', operator 'Contains', and then types 'excel':

To show the non-character keys, Pete moves to the 'Data Format' page and clears the 'Reconstruct typed text' box:

To hide time-related columns, Pete opens the 'Columns' page and moves 'Date', 'Start Time' and 'Duration' from the list of visible columns to the list of hidden ones:

Pete clicks 'OK' and sees the result: the date/time columns have been removed, only work carried out in Microsoft Excel is shown, and the non-character keystrokes have been filtered out.

Now Pete wants to know how long he worked with each application. He needs to group the logged data.

Pete opens the 'Report Settings' panel on the 'Columns' page () and checks the 'Group Data' option. He also hides the 'Active window' column, which is not required:

Then Pete clears the statement 'Application contains excel' on the 'Filter' page.

Peter clicks 'OK' and sees that he worked 10 mins. 22 secs. overall; 3 mins. 47 secs. of this time were spent on Microsoft Excel, 4 mins. 45 secs. on Internet browsing, and 1 min. 40 secs. on managing files.

Pete saves all the report settings for future use.
